FFL' meeting of the Evaluation Council on the Master's Program in English Teaching Methodology

On April 12, 2018, the FFL held the meeting of the Evaluation Council on the Master's Program in English Teaching Methodology. The Council includes 5 members:

  • Head of Council: Associate Professor- doctor Nguyen Thanh Tung, Vice Dean of the Faculty of English, HochiminhUniversity of Pedagogy
  • Evaluator 1: Dr. Nguyen Thi Xuan Lan, Head of the non-English major Division, Hochiminh Open University
  • Evaluator 2: Dr. Pham Nguyen Huy Hoang, Head of the English Teaching Methodlogy Division, Hochiminh University of Pedagogy
  • Council Member: Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Head of the Commercial English Division, Hochiminh University of Pedagogy
  • Council Secretary: Dr. Pham Huy Cuong, Deputy Head of the Foreign Languages Division, University of Economics and Law, Hochiminh National University

The meeting was also attended by Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Chi, assistant director of the postgraduate department and faculty members of the Faculty of Foreign Languages of Ton Duc Thang University.

Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Ngo Thi Thanh Van, Dean of the FFL presented briefly the content of the Master's program in English Teaching Methodology including its teaching plans, detailed syllabi, enrollment and training objectives aligned with the learning outcomes.

Chairman of the Evaluation Council, Assoc. Nguyen Thanh Tung commented that the FFL’s Master's degree was elaborated in detail and met the requirements of teaching and learning. According to Assoc. Nguyen Thanh Tung, to improve the program, the compilation team should update and add some contents such as: the foundation of  for developing this Master training program; subjects and methods of enrollment; updated and added textbooks, reference materials suitable for each subject. Other members of the Evaluation Council also agreed that there should be consistency in how certain English expressions are used. 

Five out of five members of the evaluation council voted to agree that Master's Program in English Teaching Methodology met the requirements.
