PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES - PEOS

After graduating from the Bachelor's program in English language - Ton Duc Thang University for 3 to 5 years, they will be able to:

1. Apply theoretical knowledge in the field of English language and specialized knowledge in ELT or Business English orientation in practice.

2. Communicate in English fluently; have critical thinking and problem solving skills; be proactive in doing research, updating knowledge; foster and improve their professional capacity to carry out professional activities within the training sector.

3. Demonstrate good political qualities, high sense of discipline, standard professional ethics, creativity, sense of responsibility at work and for the community.

PROGRAMME LEARNING OUTCOMES - PLOS

PLO 1: Apply knowledge of politics, law, physical education and defense education into study, research and professional activities.

PLO 2: Distinguish Basic concepts, theories and methods in the field of English linguistics.

PLO 3: Analyze issues of English and American culture, literature and society.

Or

PLO 4.1: Develop professional knowledge and skills related to pedagogical psychology, teaching methods, testing and assessment in organizing English teaching and learning activities at the high school level. (ELT)

PLO 4.2: Develop basic knowledge of economics, business and business English communication skills to perform assigned tasks in the workplace. (Business English)

PLO 5: Build skills needed in the workplace such as study skills, translation, critical thinking, communication, information technology and essential skills for sustainable development.

PROGRESSION POINTS

Students must meet the graduation requirements following the regulations on organization and training of undergraduate program according to the credit system of Ton Duc Thang University:

• Complete mandatory and elective courses and earn 140 credits including 109 credits for mandatory courses and 32 credits for elective courses required by the program;

• Obtain an MOS certificate at least 750/1000 (Word, Excel);

• Achieve the grade point (GPA) from 5.0 or above;

• Meet the requirements of skill-knowledge standards including the Essential Skills for Sustainable Development courses composing of 4 credits; Fundamentals of Informatics 1 and 2 courses;

• In addition, students must have Physical Education and National defense Education certificates.
