The 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Faculty of Foreign Languages

In the afternoon of April 15, 2018, Ton Duc Thang University's Department of Foreign Languages (FFL) celebrated its 20th Anniversary (April 16, 1998-16 April 04, 2018) with the participation of TDTU leaders, faculty leaders, faculty members, students, alumni and many business associates.

Speaking at the anniversary, Dr. Ngo Thi Thanh Van, Dean of Faculty of Foreign Languages, has reviewed the Faculty's 20-year journey of establishment and called on the voluntariness in the teacher-student community. The Faculty of Foreign Languages continues to work together to build a strong and united family for success and prosperity.

As one of the first specialized faculties at TDTU, the FFL has been with the university to overcome many difficulties to achieve achievements in the fields of education, research, international relations, business cooperation, etc; It is the result of the rigorous, committed work of the generations of faculty teachers and staff as well as the contributions of many partners and generations of students. The FFL's rate of graduate employability has reached 100% after 1-year graduation. Moreover, the FFL has been proactively implementing the political tasks of the university, namely training students on TDTU's other campuses in Nha Trang, Bao Loc and Ca Mau, raising the total number of students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages over the past 20 years to nearly 8,500 in 3 disciplines: English Studies, Chinese Studies, and Chinese-English Studies. Particularly, the FFL has successfully defended its proposal for Master's program in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and is planning to enrol the first cohort in June, 2018.
