FFL students joining a field trip at JinYu Co, LTD (Vietnam)

To enhance students' practical knowledge and offer them a firsthand understanding of the future work environment. The Faculty of Foreign Languages (FFL) at Ton Duc Thang University organized a field trip on December 9, 2023. This trip was specifically tailored for students majoring in Mandarin Chinese and took them to visit JinYu Co, LTD. (Vietnam) situated in the Phuoc Dong Industrial Zone, Go Dau District, Tay Ninh Province.

The field trip to JinYu Company—a business specializing in researching and manufacturing automobile tires—not only allowed students to observe firsthand the advanced and modern tire production line but also provided valuable practical knowledge. It enhanced their ability to communicate in Chinese and improved their skills in presenting their opinions in front of a group. Students had the opportunity to directly visit the office area, warehouse, auditorium, dining area, as well as the recreational area of the company to gain further insight into the corporate culture at JinYu.

Furthermore, more than 80 students majoring in Mandarin Chinese were provided with a comprehensive overview of JinYu Company's organizational structure, departmental functions, job positions, internship possibilities, employment prospects, and recruitment criteria. They also gained valuable insights into the exploration and work experiences at JinYu through firsthand accounts shared by former students from FFL. This information allowed them to understand the company's personnel selection criteria and partially assess their own abilities while proactively improving their skills.

Moreover, the students engaged in a lucky draw activity to further acquaint themselves with the company. Numerous queries were posed by students from the Faculty of Foreign Languages, including questions such as: "What qualifications are necessary for employment at the company?" "Could you elaborate on the recruitment policies, salary, and benefits?" and "What practical work skills does the company seek for the procurement department position?"

Corporate visits are one of the regular activities of FFL to help students experience the real working environment at companies. This experience enhances their knowledge and skills, shapes a serious and professional attitude in both their studies and future careers to meet the requirements of the domestic labor market. Organizing such field trips to businesses can be seen as an effective bridge between enterprises and the university, aiming to develop long-term cooperation to achieve the common goal of providing students with practical knowledge and skills, an essential foundation for career development in the future.
