Career Workshop "The Foundation of Happiness in becoming a Teacher"

On the morning of November 16, 2024, the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) organized a career panel held in meeting room A0101 at Tan Phong Campus, discussing the topic: "The Foundation of Happiness in becoming a Teacher". The event was specifically tailored for students in the English Language Program, particularly those majoring in English Language Teaching (ELT) to provide deeper insights into the value of teaching and to help students gain clearer career orientation.

The session featured guest speaker, Mr. Ho Cong Son, an alumnus of the English Language program at the Faculty of Foreign Languages, who is currently a teacher and trainer at TESOL Simple Education.

The program was attended by:

•    Dr. Ly Y Lam, Head of the Enterprise Cooperation Division of the Faculty of Foreign Languages
•    Mr. Hoang Le Quoc Dat, a member of the Enterprise Cooperation Division
•    Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Tam, Head of the English Teaching Methodology Division
•    Ms. Vo Thi Khanh Chi, lecturer in the English Teaching Methodology Division

, and over 40 juniors and seniors from the English Language Program were also present in the session.

During the talk, Mr. Ho Cong Son introduced the core factors that help teachers find joy and happiness in their profession. Through real-life stories and personal experiences, he emphasized the importance of passion for teaching, empathy, and the ability to inspire students. The session received enthusiastic participation from the students, who posed engaging questions about the challenges and opportunities in the field of teaching.

This created a lively and close-knitted atmosphere between the speaker and the audience.

After the talk, the Dean Committee hopes that Mr. Ho Cong Son’s sharing will inspire and empower students, especially those aspiring to pursue teaching, to gain more confidence, motivation, and clearer career orientation for their future journey.
