FFL Debating Championships season 2

The contest “FFL Debating Championships season 2” has returned to all students of Faculty of Foreign Languages. This is not only a mere academic playground, but also a test for students about their eloquence in English. In addition, the contest contributes to perfecting some necessary skills for FFL students, such as language skill, logical thinking, reasoning and public speaking skill and problem solving skill. The contest has practical and highly applicable content, promoting students' initiative and creativity. Especially, in 2023, the contest "FFL Debating Championship SS 2" will be contested. Championships” is one of a series of major events to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​1998-2023.

The contest's specific information is as follows:

Contest time: From 20/02/2023 to 15/04/2023

Contestants: All students of Faculty of Foreign Languages

⭐️⭐️ There are three rounds

ROUND 1: BREAK THE ICE (22/02/2023 - 05/03/2023)

Entrants must email The Organizing Committee an inspirational video between 3 and 5 minutes long, on a theme of their choice, and has the following elements:

- Briefly introduce yourself (including full name, Student’s ID, class) in English

- Present your personal opinions on elective topics.

- Upload the contest video + the scirpt of the video to Google Drive, then copy the share access URL to paste it into The Organizing Committee’s provided registration form.

- All students participating in ROUND 1 will be recognized for extracurricular points according to TDTU’s regulations.

ROUND 2:ON THE RISE (15/03/2023 - 21/03/2023)

- Coordinators of the event will synthesize the videos submitted by the candidates through the registration form and to launch the voting phase, post the them on YouTube of the Foreign Language Faculty Association to start the Voting Round.

- At the end of the voting time The Organizing Committee will do a statistical analysis and choose the top videos with the most votes/likes/shares for the Judges to score.

- From 8 to 10 contenders with the highest Judge scores + Voting scores will advance to Round 3.

ROUND 3: TIME TO SHINE (15/04/2023)

The top contenders who advance from Round 2 will participate in the Final Round, where they will be on the stage and compete with one another by presenting and arguing their personal ideas in English on the topics and situations that The Organizing Committee have predetermined.
