In August 2024, the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) had the honour of welcoming 49 students and 2 lecturers from Mahasarakham University (MSU), Thailand, to participate in the "Learning and Cultural Exchange Programme at TDTU 2024."
This programme is part of a series of activities under the faculty’s strategy to attract international students for the 2024-2025 academic year, promoting the image of TDTU and the Vietnam-Finland International School (VFIS) to international partners.
The programme took place from August 24 to August 28, 2024, featuring a variety of meaningful activities. Its goal was to provide MSU students with an opportunity to experience the learning environment at TDTU, engage in cultural exchange, and help TDTU students connect with international peers.
The main activities of the programme included:
• Learning Vietnamese language and culture.
• Attending two workshops on the topics of "Multicultural Communication Skills" and "How to Become Global Citizens."
• Participating in teambuilding activities with members of the English Club and students from the Faculty’s English-taught Undergraduate Programme, through traditional games and puzzles that explored TDTU.
• A cultural exchange event with English major students featuring Vietnamese, English, and Thai songs and group performances.
• A campus tour of TDTU’s facilities.
• Visits to the Ao Dai Museum, the Independence Palace, and an experience on the Saigon Waterbus.
The programme concluded successfully, leaving many memorable moments and opening opportunities for future cooperation between TDTU and MSU. The Faculty of Foreign Languages hopes to continue welcoming more international students to TDTU in the near future.
