Workshop “Entrepreneurship and Approaching Potential Candidates”

On the morning of March 29, 2025, the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) organized a workshop to share entrepreneurship experiences with the theme "Entrepreneurship and Approaching Potential Candidates" in meeting room A0101, Tan Phong Campus. The main speaker of the workshop was Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Suu, Director of Hung Phat Real Estate Services Company Limited, who has many years of experience in the field of entrepreneurship and business development consulting. In addition, the sharing session was honored to welcome Ms. Vu Thi Ngoan, CEO of Vu Minh Phuc Company Limited.

Attending the program, from the university, was Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung, Head of the Skills Training Department under the Student Affairs Department; from the Faculty of Foreign Languages, there was the presence of Dr. Ly Y Lam, Head of the Business Cooperation Department, Dr. Le Lan Huong, Head of the Communications Department, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Dung, M.A., and Ms. Tran Nguyen Ngoc, M.A., lecturers of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, along with a large number of fourth-year students studying Business Entrepreneurship and Business Start-up at the Faculty.

During the two-hour sharing session, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Suu helped students gain a more practical view of entrepreneurship, while emphasizing that more than 90% of startups fail in the first three years. Therefore, to succeed, entrepreneurs need to understand the market, control cash flow, and build a suitable team. In addition, the speaker also pointed out three fatal mistakes that many startups make when starting a business:

  • 1st: Creating a product that no one needs - Startups fail when they focus on personal preferences instead of the actual needs of the market.
  • 2nd: Spending money too quickly without revenue - Many startups burn money on advertising and offices without a sustainable financial plan.
  • 3rd: Choosing the wrong team - Recruiting close friends instead of people with complementary skills causes imbalance in the business.

Furthermore, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Suu also shared about how to approach investors, the important factors needed to attract capital, as well as important notes in the process of raising capital and operating a successful startup.

The sharing, distilled from the speaker's practical experience and successes in his entrepreneurial journey, provided a practical perspective, valuable lessons, and strong inspiration to the students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages. The workshop helped students better understand entrepreneurial thinking, perseverance, and how to overcome challenges to achieve success in the future.

Entrepreneurship is not just a career choice but also a journey of self-development. Success comes only to those who know how to learn, persevere, adapt, and make constant efforts. Hopefully, the workshop conveyed positive inspiration to students who are eager to start a business and want to contribute to the community.
