Conference on Student Scientific Research for the Academic Year 2026–2027: A Scientific Inquiry - An Enlightening Journey

The Faculty of Foreign Languages of Ton Duc Thang University has successfully organized the Conference on Student Scientific Research for the academic year 2026–2027, featuring a series of talks on the topic "A Scientific Inquiry – An Enlightening Journey" on the morning of September 19, 2026, at Hall 6B. The event attracted a large number of students currently studying English Language and Chinese Language in the Faculty, marking a strong kick-off and setting the momentum for the Faculty's student scientific research journey in the new academic year. 

As part of the program, two key speakers who are also faculty members of the Faculty of Foreign Languages shared practical and expert insights on doing research: 

• Dr. Le Lan Huong, lecturer in the Chinese Language Department, shared valuable insights on research directions for language students, the structure of a scientific research paper, as well as specific guidance on how to work effectively with faculty advisors. 

• Dr. Le Ngoc Quynh Nhu, lecturer in the English Language Department, presented timely insights on utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) tools effectively in scientific research while ensuring strict adherence to academic integrity guidelines when applying AI in the research process.

A special highlight of the event was the discussion featuring alumni from the Faculty of Foreign Languages who previously engaged in scientific research and won First, Second, and Third University-level Prizes. Drawing from their real-world experiences, the two main speakers and alumni shared personal stories on selecting research topics, finding advisors, working effectively with advisors and team members, as well as practical lessons learned from their research journeys.

The follow-up Q&A and exchange session provided students with a more concrete perspective on scientific research. Student scientific research is not merely an academic requirement, but a journey of exploration, asking questions, seeking answers, and personal growth through every experience. 

Through this meaningful event, the Faculty of Foreign Languages hopes that the knowledge, experience, and inspiration shared during the conference and panel discussion will spark many new research ideas among students throughout the 2026–2027 academic year. For every research project begins with a simple question, and every question, when pursued with dedication and clear methodological guidance, can help students embark on a meaningful, valuable, and rewarding journey of discovery.
