A Decade of Inspiring Chinese Language Passion and Strengthening Vietnam-China Ties

Ten years is more than just a chronological milestone; for the Faculty of Foreign Languages (FFL) at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), it represents a decade of relentless dedication to spreading the love for Chinese language and culture to thousands of students.

What began as a small-scale student competition has evolved into a prestigious cultural landmark. This transformation underscores FFL’s strategic vision in cultivating a multicultural workforce and fostering international exchange.

The 10th Chinese Language and Culture Competition, recently hosted by TDTU’s Faculty of Foreign Languages, concluded with resounding success. Beyond its role as an academic arena, the contest serves as a vital "bridge," deepening the friendship and cultural understanding between the youth of Vietnam and China.

The event’s prestige was further elevated by the support of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Ho Chi Minh City and Thien Binh Energy Co., Ltd. (Sponsor). This partnership highlights the commitment of diplomatic and corporate sectors to developing high-quality, culturally-adept human resources.

Following intense preliminary rounds, the "Top 8" finalists, hailing from both Chinese and English Language majors, delivered breathtaking performances. Through singing and dancing performances, as well as sharp presentations, talented students demonstrated sophisticated cultural insights and a deep respect for heritage, effectively breaking cultural barriers.

In a highly competitive finale, Nguyen Phuong Anh, a Chinese Language sophomore student, emerged as the Champion. Her victory stands as a testament to the spirit of continuous learning and a genuine passion for the Chinese language.

Final Results:

• First Prize: Nguyen Phuong Anh (Student’ s ID: 02400219)

• Second Prize: Cao Tuan Kiet (Student’ s ID: 02500232)

• Third Prize: Nguyen Phan Bao Uyen (Student’ s ID: 02400102)

• Consolation Prizes: Ly Hue Tran, Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, Nguyen Hoang Duy, Nguyen Le Thanh Truc, Nguyen Thi My Linh.

While the 10th season has officially closed, its echoes of connection remain. The passion for Chinese linguistics and culture continues to burn bright, motivating students to sharpen their skills and contribute positively to Vietnam-China relations.

The Faculty of Foreign Languages reaffirms its commitment to extending this cultural mission, nurturing linguistic passion in the younger generation, and ensuring every competition serves as a solid foundation for students' future careers.

Congratulations once again to our Champion, Nguyen Phuong Anh, for a well-deserved victory. We look forward to seeing our students again in the upcoming chapters of FFL’s journey !
