ELT workshop highlights: Using games in Teaching English to learners of different age groups

On the morning of March 21, 2026, the Faculty of Foreign Languages successfully organized a workshop entitled “Using Games in Teaching English to Learners of Different Age Groups” in Hall 6M at Ton Duc Thang University. The event not only introduced creative pedagogical approaches but also gave students the opportunity to explore practical and engaging teaching skills.

During the workshop, Ms. Nguyễn Lê Hồng Đến – an alumna of Cohort 20, Faculty of Foreign Languages (TDTU), and currently an English teacher for adults at IMAP Vietnam – shared valuable insights on how to bring lessons to life through a variety of interactive games. She emphasized the importance of creating an energetic classroom environment to inspire learners of all ages and enhance their motivation to learn.

The workshop became even more dynamic as students had the chance to directly participate in game activities demonstrations. The speaker’s enthusiasm, together with the strong eagerness to learn shown by students of the English Language program, created an open and engaging atmosphere. This helped students further develop their methodological thinking as well as their practical classroom management skills.

The session not only helped students strengthen their pedagogical knowledge and skills but also built their confidence and provided clearer direction for their future careers. The organization of professional activities with the participation of accomplished alumni such as Ms. Nguyễn Lê Hồng Đến once again reflects the Faculty of Foreign Languages’ commitment to connecting academic training with professional practice.
