Faculty of Foreign Languages Promotes International Academic Mindset through the "Editing in Academic Writing" Workshop

On the morning of April 14, 2026, at Hall 10F, the Faculty of Foreign Languages (FFL) at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) collaborated with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Issra Pramoolsook from Suranaree University of Technology (SUT - Thailand) to successfully organize an intensive workshop titled "Editing in Academic Writing" for its lecturers and students.

This event is a key professional activity within the Faculty's Scientific Research Plan for the 2025–2026 academic year. It also marks the second installment in the annual international workshop series, "Progressive Perspectives on the English Language Education," organized by the FFL. The series aims to equip lecturers and students with academic editing skills according to international standards, share academic and research resources, and enhance professional knowledge and scientific research capabilities.

Moving beyond mere theory, the workshop delved deep into practical application under the enthusiastic guidance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Issra Pramoolsook. Attendees not only reviewed academic writing concepts and editing workflows but also engaged in discussions regarding editing techniques—a crucial step often overlooked or under-invested in during the international publication process.

A highlight that made the workshop particularly vibrant and engaging was the clever integration of technology. Through the "Mentimeter" interactive platform, challenges involving word editing and precise citation rules directly sharpened the critical thinking of participants. This approach broke down the barriers of dry theory, allowing students to approach academic writing skills naturally and with great excitement.

The meaningful message Assoc. Prof. Dr. Issra Pramoolsook wished to convey through this workshop was that the knowledge and skills gained today will serve as a solid foundation, empowering students to confidently write and edit their own research papers in the future.
