FFL-TDTU strengthens comprehensive international cooperation with the University of West of England (UWE Bristol)
On the afternoon of March 5, the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) held a meeting and working session with a delegation from the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol, United Kingdom). The event not only reinforced the strong partnership between the two institutions but also opened up new opportunities for academic collaboration, student exchange, and research activities.
Representing the Faculty of Foreign Languages were Ms. Nguyen Thanh Phuong, M.A., Vice Dean, in charge of the Faculty; Dr. Le Lan Huong, coordinator of the Internship module; Mr. Trinh Hoang Dong, M.A., Head of the Language Skills Division; and Ms. Le Minh Hang, M.A., coordinator of the 3+1 Joint Training program. The event also attracted nearly 100 students enrolled in the Faculty’s English programs: Undergraduate Program in English language, 3+1 Joint Training Program and Undergraduate Standard Program.
The UWE Bristol delegation was led by Professor Ray Priest, Regional Director for Asia-Pacific. Accompanying him were Dr. Jeanette Sakel and Ms. Adrienne Noonan from the College of Arts, Technology and Environment; Ms. Geal Milligan, Asia-Pacific International Partnerships Manager; Mr. Luke Keller, Director of the English Program in Vietnam; and Ms. Hoang Lan Hoa, Head of the UWE Bristol Representative Office in Vietnam. The presence of UWE Bristol’s academic and administrative representatives highlighted the strategic importance of the partnership with the Faculty of Foreign Languages.
During the meeting, both sides focused on discussing undergraduate study pathways and the expansion of short-term international exchange programs for both lecturers and students of English Studies. These initiatives represent an important step toward enabling faculty members and students to access a British-standard educational environment and further enhance their professional expertise.
One of the highlights of the event was the introduction of postgraduate scholarship opportunities and an interactive Q&A session with the UWE Bristol delegation. This session provided students with practical insights into on-site study abroad programs and international transfer opportunities, which are expected to become a significant breakthrough in future international collaboration between the two institutions. In particular, the UWE Summer Camp 2026 will offer an excellent opportunity for students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages to experience academic life and culture in the United Kingdom.
The meeting concluded in a vibrant and friendly atmosphere of cooperation. Its success not only reaffirmed the Faculty of Foreign Languages’ reputation for fostering international partnerships but also ensured that students will continue to benefit from sustainable and high-quality educational opportunities.
