Navigating the Future for Foreign Languages Students
On the afternoon of May 15, 2026, the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) successfully hosted a career orientation workshop tailored specifically for first-year students at Hall 6B.
The event featured a distinguished panel of keynote speakers:
• Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh – Vice Head of the English Language Teaching Methodology Division
• Ms. Nham Thi Ngoc (M.A.) – Lecturer in the Business English Division
• Ms. Tran Thu Huyen – Alumna of the TDTU English Linguistics program and currently the HR Manager at Aurora Management Vietnam (a member of Eqvanta Group).
“University is not a place to wait, but a place to begin.”
This powerful message set the tone for an event that provided practical guidance and served as a bridge between students and the demanding realities of today’s job market. Gen Alpha students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages proved themselves to be proactive, bold, and eager to take charge of their future.
Over two hours, participants learned how to identify their core strengths as language majors, understand their position in the era of AI and rapidly evolving technology, and shape a clear academic and career roadmap. Honest and practical insights from lecturers and alumni helped ease uncertainties and offered direction for the next four years of study.
The atmosphere in Hall 6B grew even more vibrant during the interactive Q&A session. Students didn't just listen—they actively raised questions, engaged with the speakers, and sought out like-minded peers for their upcoming projects. This enthusiastic participation highlighted the bold, "dare-to-do" spirit of this new generation of students.
"University is not just about accumulating knowledge; it is a proactive journey of designing your own future self!" It is hoped that following this workshop, every freshman in the Faculty of Foreign Languages has begun sketching the first lines on their own career roadmap.
The Faculty of Foreign Languages extends its heartfelt gratitude to the University Board, our guest speakers, and all the first-year students who contributed to making this workshop an inspiring and highly successful event.
